Akyikatchy (Ombudsman) of the Kyrgyz Republic Dzhamilya Dzhamanbaeva held a meeting with authors of the first books on autism in the Kyrgyz language - journalist Baktygul Chynybaeva and student of St. John's University Zeynep Ibraim kyzy.
The authors of the books «Өзгөчө бөбөгүм» ("My Special Brother") Zeynep Ibrahim kyzy and and «Аутизм менен жашоо» ("Life with Autism") by Baktygul Chynybaeva. - sister and mother of a special boy, Urmat.
Akyikatchy and the authors of the books discussed the importance of ensuring the rights of children with autism.
Baktygul Chynybaeva told Akyikatchy what motivated her to write her book.
"In Kyrgyzstan, parents of children with autism fight every day for every smile, gesture of the child. Yet they are left to deal with this problem on their own. The state is not involved. There are no state centers for children with autism. Parents of these children go to the only private center, and many of them can't afford it to afford it. When we first found out about our child's diagnosis, we were working abroad for work. All the specialists came to visit us, and theyand they took care of me. Developed countries have long had clear algorithms in place when determining a diagnosis. The first priority is to provide help and support for parents of children with autism, because it's by informing the parents. How a child with this diagnosis will grow and develop, when we returned home, I realized how dire our situation was. and that there was nowhere to go for help. The parents are trying to do what they can to get some opportunities. But we need support from the government. from the state. And we don't have it." she said.
Akyikatchy presented a letter of gratitude to the authors of books for their contribution to the protecting children's rights. "It is very important for us to ensure the rights of children with autism. We thank you for your contribution to the interests of children's rights. With your methodology, many parents will be able to find the strength to help their child. We are aware of the situation of the rights of children with autism. The Ombudsman Institute is ready to do the necessary work in this direction. We intend to propose systemic changes to ensure optimal development and improve the quality of life of people with autism.
It is also important to ensure the rights of parents of children with autism to access the information they need, so that they receive the support of highly qualified professionals, taking into account the individual needs of their children. to ensure that parents of children with autism have the right to access the necessary information so that they are supported by highly qualified professionals, taking into account the individual needs of their children," said Akyikatchy.
