The Ombudsman Institutution calls on Law enforcement Agencies to ensure the protection of the rights of K.A., a woman who was detained at the airport by police officers.
Earlier, the mother of the detained woman reported to the media that the police officers conducted the arrest in violation of her rights, despite the fact that she is breastfeeding a baby.
According to the police, the woman was wanted, and she was detained under Article 209 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Representatives of the authorized representation visited K.A. at the temporary detention facility.
She mentioned that she is concerned about her child, who is in critical condition in the intensive care unit of one of the hospitals in Bishkek.
She did not complain about the conditions of her detention.
The Institutution's representatives contacted the management of the hospital in Bishkek, where the woman's child is located.
According to doctors, the child's condition is critical, and they are in the intensive care unit.
The Ombudsman Institutution calls for the protection of the rights of the child and the woman.
The Institutution's representatives will continue to monitor K.A.'s case.
Today, the court will decide on the preventive measure against K.A.
The head of the Department of the Ombudsman Institutution for the Protection of the Rights of Children, Women, and Families, Nailia Toktosunova, called on the court to consider, when deciding on the preventive measure, that K.A.'s child is in an extremely critical condition and needs her at this moment.
"The detained woman has four more underage children. She is divorced from her husband. We urge the court to consider these factors and choose a preventive measure that is not related to arrest," Toktosunova said.
